Know Your World Better!

Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan are the least corrupted among the 13 major Asian economies. India ranked 8th, far better than the 10th placed China in a survey conducted by Regional Think-Tank.
On the scale of ‘0 to 10′, Singapore topped with just 1.13, followed by Hong Kong (1.80) and Japan (2.25). India was ranked 8th on the chart with 7.25, far worse than the last year when it scored only 6.67.
China was placed on the 10th position with 7.98, much worse than the previous year when it scored only 6.29.
Philippines was considered as the most corrupt economy with the score of 9, followed by Thailand(8).
More than 400 expatriate business people were asked to rank countries based on issues that could negatively impact their business. These included red tape, policy clarity, financial reforms, transparency and liberalisation, PERC said.
I would have thought India would have ranked as one of the least corrupt. I guess the only knowledge I would have would be the fex Indians I know here in /america who seem to be hard-working, intelligent businessmen.
that was supposed to say “would be the few Indians”
Yeah. They tend to goto America. If all those who hard workers were here, it would help remove a bit or corruption
Corruption cannot go unless India meets world standards. For example take the corruption of a policeman only. He tries to unnecessary pull money in his pockets. Even after I got my license, he catches me and manages to take away 100rupees or he would trouble me with giving away more papers and everything which I had to go home and bring, I gave him. So theres the corruption unnecessary. If a policeman gets a mere small payments, he has to become corrupted to fill the pocket. If a policeman gets a lot of money, they dont need to be corrupted and try tricks. So unless India meets the world standards, corruption cannot go.
And ofcourse, not including the politicians here that eats 80%. They have to reduce their money eating percentage for India to improve.
Ouch. That hurts. I’m a Filipino and it’s SO embarrassing for me if I read articles and blog posts on the net saying that our country is the most corrupt in Asia (which I believe is true).
It’s really sad because people here are striving to have a good life, and yet the politicians are just laughing their heads off when they get lots of $$$.
I feel so lucky that I have a very decent life and have the opportunity to study in a great school, but what about the other people who are in the majority? They have to suffer because of the douche bags (teh c0rrupt politicianzzz lolol). Ugh.
It is the same here in India, however India is developing fast now. But it is no where to meet the world standards.
The average per capita income of India as a whole is 22,000. Averagely, an individual in India earns not even 2000 rupees ($50) per month. Because there are so poor people who make 10$ a month or even less. So it brings down the average to so low.
However India made an improvement. It increased $50/year per person’s income in a single year which was considered the highest yet…..
I think China deserved that ranking.Chinese is the ethnic that like to give brief. This has happened since thousand years ago….
That’s suppose to keep you happy!
haha
