What Is Demat Account?

Before you start investing into Equities, you are required to get a demat account of your own that will hold the stocks for you. Without a demat account, you cannot trade into equities yourself.

What is demat account?

A demat account is a dematerialised account that holds securities like shares, mutual funds, gold etfs just like a bank account would hold money for you. A demat account helps you keep your securities safe in the form of paper. You can buy paper gold or paper shares. A demat account is something where you are going to keep your securities safe under your name.
